Can I invoice ROT and RUT jobs?
Yes, you can invoice both ROT jobs (renovation, remodelling, extensions) and RUT jobs (cleaning, gardening, childcare and more) via Paidin. You mark the deduction when creating the invoice, the customer pays their reduced share and Paidin applies for the rest from the Swedish Tax Agency. Your salary is paid out once both the customer and the Tax Agency have paid their shares.
How does it work?
The tax reduction is handled automatically. Paidin applies for payment from the Swedish Tax Agency on behalf of your customer. The customer only pays their share of the invoice and the rest is paid by the Tax Agency directly to Paidin.
What do I need to keep in mind?
- The customer must own or reside in the property for ROT deductions to apply.
- RUT deductions apply to work performed in or close to the customer's home.
- Maximum amounts and rules are set by the Swedish Tax Agency.
- Your salary is paid out only when both the customer and the Tax Agency have paid their share, since the Tax Agency may deny the payment.
Can I use Swish to get paid for ROT and RUT jobs?
No. Direct Swish payment ("Get paid with Swish") is for jobs without a deduction, where the customer pays the full amount at once and your salary can be paid out right away. ROT and RUT jobs work the opposite way: the customer pays only their reduced share and the Swedish Tax Agency pays the rest later. So always invoice ROT and RUT jobs the normal way, so that the tax reduction is handled correctly and the salary is paid out once both the customer and the Tax Agency have paid.
